The expansion came out just under a week ago, and while I’ve been playing it thoroughly, I havn’t gotten to level 80, not yet at least. I decided to level my paladin since retribution is a rather nice spec for them at the moment. I completely quested out Howling Fjord; one of two starting zones for Northrend. I chose to level in the zone purely for aesthetic reasons.

In Howling Fjord, there was this quest where you were told to climb a tall mountain in the northern part of the map so you could meditate and kill your inner demons. Of course I had to kill Kelyn my paladin’s inner demon. After completing that part, I looked around, and decided the best way to descend the mountain would be to jump off (and then use my pally bubble), but to my surprise I had just gained a 3-minute-slowfalling-buff.

So today is the big day for World of Warcraft. In preparations for the new expansion: Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard has released a new patch titled the “Echoes of Doom”.

All new Talents and Abilities.
The new Inscription profession.
The new Achievements system.
Barbershops.
All new User Interface elements, such as the new Pet/Mount UI.
Spellpower conversion.
The end of the Arena Season 4 ladder.
New Racials.
30% less XP from 60 to 70.
30% less health on mobs in raids.
A reworked Buff/Debuff system.
Graphics Engine upgrades.

Also the instance Naxxramas has been removed because it is being changed to a new instance for players who are level 80. So Ragor, who had ‘won/bribed for’ a Tier 3 shoulder token in a Naxxramas raid a few weeks earlier, was unable to turn the token into the Tier 3 shoulders themselves. So last night – The night before Naxxramas was removed – We constructed a group of 5 people and traveled to Naxxramas. We then slaughtered a few enemies (That Ragor needed for his quest). Thus, allowing Ragor to get his Tier 3 shoulders.

Portal: Prelude

Yesterday I downloaded Portal: Prelude - The unofficial prequel to the popular game Portal which was released in the pack of games titled the Orange Box. Portal: Prelude takes place before Portal. That means that GlaDOS hasn’t been created yet, so scientists play the role of testing you during the game. Because the scientists are behind a sort of frosted-glass, you can’t get a good look at what they look like. Instead, you can only hear their voices, which gives you a good idea of their personalities.

Portal: Prelude plays about the same as Portal. Each level gets progressively more difficult as you go along. Except this time around the levels are much more hard then the ones in Portal. The way that you beat the level is not very apparent. I think I actually cheated on the third challenge; I jumped on one of the squares that protrude from the wall, then I jumped across to where the elevator was. All in all, I look forward to playing more of Portal: Prelude, I’m not so confident that I’ll beat it any time soon, but I can try.

Over the course of a couple of days, I have finally finished the level I had been making in N. v14 (A unique flash game) Although the level seems a bit too easy, I was happy with the final product. The level itself is very linear. The hardest part of the level is the first room. However after multiple tries I got the hang of getting past the first room.

Just finished the death knight chain.

Blizzard did a really nice job on the Death Knight starting chain. The quests weren’t hard, and we’re quite enjoyable. Plus the armor looks pretty sweet.

Confirmed Release Date

Blizzard has just confirmed that Wrath of the Lich King – The expansion to the popular mmo rpg World of Warcraft – Will be release November 13, 2008. Which is less than two months from now. That means people still have time to level characters to 70 before the expansion is released.

I have just recently been invited to the beta of Wrath of the Lich king; Blizzard’s upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft. I will be able to adventure across Northrend, and play the new hero class, the death knight. The invite pretty much came out of nowhere. Blizzard mentioned that they sent out invites a couple of months back. Well apparently it wasn’t too late to get an invite.
